* Determine and implement control indicators to validate monthly information during the reporting cycles.
* Communicate accrued amounts to the Business Partners and/or vendors for invoicing.
* Review accuracy and allocation of invoices that were allocated
* Investigate any possible over/under accruals and amend future calculations methods, processes or information to ensure accurate accruals. Liaise with the business partner on this process
* Ensure all reversing journals reversed correctly from previous month.
* Validate monthly information received by reviewing control indicators.
* Identify any discrepancies and investigate the root cause with source systems
* Calculate unearned revenue release or deferral at month end.
* Calculate and account for any relevant discounts.
* Review reconciliations for all revenue and expense accounts
* Investigate any discrepancies and alert Financial Reporting team with any late adjustments to revenue figures and/or cost figures
* Balance intercompany before trial balance close deadline.
* Analyze current month revenue and cost numbers against budget and prior month figures.
* Provide logical explanations for movements against budget and prior month figures.
* Populate supporting information relating to revenue and cost drivers.
* Perform/review reconciliations for relevant General Ledger accounts

Policies and Procedures
• Ensure adherence to collection policies and procedures.
Collections and Targets
• Monitor and manage a debtor’s portfolio of no more than 480 accounts.

Hand Overs and Bad Debts

Credit Notes, Invoices and Adjustments
• Check that all credit notes and adjustments are raised correctly.
• Investigate all reasons for credit notes to ensure that they are valid.
• Submit all credit notes requisitions to the regional credit supervisor.
• Raise all rate queries and stop billing on closures with the billing department.
Month-end Activities
• Ensure that all re-allocations of unallocated deposits are completed.
• Ensure that all journals’ requisitions are raised by 12h00 on the 4th working day of the new month.
Cash / Suspense Accounts
• Ensure the bank statements deposits are captured and allocated daily.
• Ensure that all suspense accounts are reconciled and cleared monthly.
• Obtain all remittance advices for all deposits received on allotted debtor’s accounts.
Financial & Reporting
• Prepare commentary on top twenty clients each month for the region
Auditors
• Assist auditors as and when required.
Meetings
• Regular one on one book reviews with the credit supervisor
• Attend monthly and weekly meetings where required.
• Regularly attend customer meetings.
Customer Care & Queries
• Promote a high level of focus on customer care with relevance to all customer complaints and queries.
• Maintains accurate and complete client information on the system
• Ensure that such queries and complaints are dealt with efficiently, accurately, and promptly.
• Ensure a 48-hour turn-around-time on all customer queries.
Inter-departmental Relations
• Ensure that inter-departmental relationships between Accounts Receivable and other areas are maintained at high levels.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Capturing of all new claim where applicable.• One point of contact for the client/broker and adherence to first call resolution.• Deliver exceptional client service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate claims handling.• Ensures that customer claim is handled efficiently.• Verifies FNOL data or documentation provided to ensure correct settlements of claim • Attend to validation and first call actions on all claims within 1 working hour after registration.• Achieve minimum targets were applicable.• Maintain appropriate diaries and messages on the operating system.• Client input and communication is an integral part at the start of the entire claims value chain, ensuring that complete and accurate data/documentation is obtained and captured. This determines the direction of the claim to the entire claims value chain.• Effectively maintains oversight of all relevant claims tasks and manages the claims handling process to achieve timely settlement and to minimise inaccuracies• Identify, investigate and resolve any issues relating to claims being handled in line with claims policies and procedures such as SLAs and TAT.• Accurately check/determine whether appropriate cover is in place, interpret policy wordings and conditions to determine the validity of claims and advises the broker/policyholder accordingly.• Identify potential non-disclosure and misrepresentation cases and follow Insurer's procedures to deal with these situations.• Identify any red flags on claims which are potentially fraudulent and follow Insurer procedures for dealing with these.• Identify when a specialist is needed to investigate a claim and follow Insurers policies and procedures for appointing these.• Identify possible recovery and third-party claims and link the claim to the legal department upon registration.• Negotiates effectively within agreed mandate limits using an appropriate negotiation style.• Be familiar with the Insurers estimate philosophy and apply accordingly.• Adhere to Brolink' s guidelines for referral of claims to management (e.g., large losses)• Selects and appoints external experts/vendors following Insurer's procedures and authority levels.• Utilises preferred service suppliers when dispatching service to clients in line with BBEEE targets e.g., Spend direction tools.• Assist with emergencies and afterhours process for outsourced business.
