Bookkeeper (5 Month Maternity Cover)
Manufacturing concern in the Food & Beverage Industry, located in Paarl, is looking to employ a Bookkeeper on a 5-month maternity cover contract (fixed term). Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
Processing and posting financial data within specified deadlines to ensure the trial balance is accurate and up to date and the business income is managed and under control. Cashflow and Fixed asset management as well as financial year end and audit requirement duties.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Journals to report expenses, prepayments, and provisions on a monthly basis; Accurate reporting of Income Statement and Balance Sheet; Daily Cash management - loading of local and foreign payments and reporting of cash availability daily; Report cash balances to Head office on a weekly basis via the electronic portal; Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet control accounts; Monthly VAT reconciliation and submission via e-filing; Reporting of fixed assets on SAP and management of monthly reporting meeting with different project managers; Fixed assets loaded on ERP system as well as depreciation calculation; Reconciling of Intercompany balances on month end; Assistance with audit requirements for the financial year end audit in March 2020; Oversee debtors and creditors functions – assist with overdue debtors’ follow-up, review all creditors reconciliations and review all credit applications before signed; Reconciling debtors and creditors age analysis’ balance to the general ledger on month end.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post Matric qualification in Accounting / Financial Administration
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position with exposure to operations and manufacturing
