Debtors Manager

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Debtors Manager to start in 2026 to oversee the full accounts receivable function and lead a team of debtors clerks. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing credit control processes, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate financial records to support the company’s cash flow and financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full debtors/accounts receivable function.
• Monitor and manage the debtor book to ensure timely payments.
• Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures.
• Supervise and support the debtors team, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion.
• Approve credit applications and set credit limits based on financial assessments.
• Review and reconcile customer accounts regularly.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer queries.
• Manage customer statements and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly debtor aging reports and collection forecasts.
• Liaise with attorneys or collection agencies for legal recoveries.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Contribute to month-end close and reporting processes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full debtors role, with at least 3 years managerial position
• Proficiency in accounting software Pastel 50 C – NO TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS office applications
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
