This important role must ensure that all credit control responsibilities and duties are carried out accurately and within set time limits, whilst providing a first class service to all our customers.
The credit controller must manage overdue accounts, reduce the companies risk and minimise losses in a high pressured environment
Must be able to maintain a caring, efficient, professional, knowledgeable and effective interface with customers at all times, resolve customer queries and maximize collection within credit terms

DUTIES:
•Daily management of debts and collections on terms customers – effective, systematic and prompt follow up of outstanding debt
•Debtor account reconciliations
•Manage incoming and outgoing calls to and from customers in a professional manner
•Daily/Weekly/Monthly reporting to management on outstanding debtors
•Attend to all customer queries
•Send out statements
•Report to management on outstanding issues and inform them early of potential debtors problems
•Processing Customer Credit Application Forms. Calling references listed on Customer Credit application Form. Creating code. Maintaining Customer Accounts file
•Record all account activity on age analyses
•Tracking Invoices / POD’s – Account for each invoice /Signed proof of delivery. Report on all invoices not returned. Follow up on invoices/pod not accounted for
•Assisting with invoicing where applicable to correct incorrect credit notes
•Daily Switchboard relief. You will be required to work one Saturday of the month.
•Attend to Ad Hoc tasks (if/when required)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•Grade 12 qualification
•A bookkeeping/accounting/credit management qualification will be an advantage
•Computer literate – Outlook, Word, Excel – able to perform basic to intermediate excel functions
•At least 3 years debt collection experience
•Minimum 3 years working experience as a credit controller
•Excellent communication skills (Verbal and written)
•Good telephone etiquette (Assertive, yet diplomatic)
•Strong negotiation skills
•Highly organized
•Excellent problem solving ability
•Strong time-management skills
•Must be deadline driven
•Ability to work as part of the team
•Must be stress tolerant
