Project Accountant

A leading telecommunications service provider is seeking a skilled Project Management Accountant to strengthen their finance team. This role acts as a vital link between finance and project delivery, ensuring every project achieves its financial and operational goals.

As a Project Management Accountant, youll take ownership of project financial performancefrom budgeting and forecasting to cost control and reporting. Youll deliver key financial insights that guide strategic decisions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain accurate project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
• Monitor and analyse project costs, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports, including P&L statements and cash flow analyses.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage billing cycles, revenue recognition, and cost allocations.
• Support audits and provide detailed financial documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams for precise cost tracking.
• Advise project managers on financial performance, risk management, and gross profit tracking.
• Work with procurement to manage inventory levels and minimise excess stock.
• Oversee subcontractor payments and reconcile related accounts accurately.
• Track project retentions and review project ageing in collaboration with the Finance Manager.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Diploma in Accounting or Finance (advantageous)
• 35 years experience in project administration, procurement, or stock management
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle and cost tracking
