Company and Job Description:

We are looking for a Portfolio Manager: New Business Affinities to play an instrumental role in growing the business by marketing life insurance products and value propositions in line with strategy.

This is a client-facing role that involves collaborating with clients and technical teams to develop and take to market tailored risk solutions.

If you thrive on identifying opportunities, structuring deals, and delivering commercial value, this role offers you the platform to make a significant impact. Youll work across the full insurance value chain, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and contribute to innovative solutions that drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, develop, and drive new business opportunities, value propositions, and proposals aligned with strategy.
  • Consult with prospective clients to position insurance as a commercial opportunity and manage opportunities from prospect to execution.
  • Structure deals and advise clients on operating models within an outsourced insurance value chain.
  • Prepare business cases for internal committees and manage due diligence processes.
  • Market and cross-sell products and services to existing clients, including assisting with product development for third-party risks.
  • Manage cell captives and related products such as funeral, life, disability, critical illness, credit life, and investment products.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
  • Relevant tertiary degree and/or insurance qualification.
  • RE5 designation required (or willingness to obtain).
  • 24 years experience in insurance and financial services industries.
  • Strong life insurance knowledge and excellent people skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Preferred: Dealmaking experience is a definite advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Critical thinking, business acumen, and ability to interpret financial statements and valuation reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
