Accountant in the Construction Sector

An established organization within the construction industry is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team. This opportunity offers exposure to the full financial function, involvement in core accounting processes, and the chance to work in a dynamic, project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the general ledger
• Perform reconciliations (GL / recons / TB)
• Prepare financial statements up to FS level
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Collaborate with internal teams to support financial operations

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education:
  • BCom Degree
• Experience:
  • 35 years experience in an accounting role
  • Exposure to the full financial function (GL, recons, TB, and FS)
  • Experience in the construction industry is advantageous
• Skills / Technical Competencies:
  • BuildSmart proficiency is a MUST (non-negotiable)
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Other Non-Negotiables:
  • Proven experience with BuildSmart (essential)
  • Accuracy, reliability, and strong organizational skills
