Description
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Only open to Namibian citizens and permanent Namibian residents.
- A bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration, retail management, marketing, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
- An MBA (Master of Business Administration) or similar advanced degree is highly desirable, as it demonstrates advanced strategic, leadership, and business management expertise.
- Alternatively, a degree in construction and general management or a related discipline with significant operational management experience will also be considered.
- Previous senior management experience having worked within the retail, FMCG or the building merchantâ??s industry or related is preferred.
- Previous knowledge of managing building merchant branches in respect of all business functions is pref.
- Strong ability to think strategically and align operational goals with overall company objectives.
- Experience in driving change, process improvements, and tech integration is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a senior operations role, ideally within a retail or multi- format branch environment.
- Experience managing regional or branch-level operations is essential.
- In-depth understanding of operational best practices, budgeting, process optimization, inventory management, and financial oversight.
- Ensuring the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of the business at the regional and branch levels while maintaining a focus on long-term strategic growth.
- Maintaining focus on improving operational procedures and processes by leveraging strategic insights and technological integration.
- Providing strategic direction and oversight of operations, focusing on continuous improvement in business processes, customer service, and profitability.
- Overseeing the implementation of the business plan and ensuring that regional and branch operations align with company objectives.
- Leading, coaching, and developing regional managers and other key operational staff. Ensuring that all branches are fully staffed, with appropriate training and performance management systems in place.
- Monitoring operational costs, revenue performance, and ensuring the business stays on budget.
- Providing strategic recommendations to improve cost-efficiency and profitability across all regions and branches.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving initiatives to enhance operational performance, streamline processes, and leverage technology for better results.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, health and safety, security, and environmental regulations across branches.
- Taking corrective actions where necessary and ensure a safe and secure working environment.

Identify the primary financial and emotional needs of the potential client by asking open ended questions and then actively listening to their responsesPre-qualify the potential client through understanding their background situation and linking it to the credit matrixIdentify the financial problems / challenges faced by the potential client and the impact it is having on themShould potential client not qualify, keep their details for possible future follow-up
Match relevant product package to relevant need
Using outstanding product knowledge, present the features and benefits of a product package to the potential client in such a way that it meets their need and solves their problemsExplain to the potential client the procedure taken to process their applicationApply the correct credit criteria when assessing the fileDrafting motivations and explanations of any abnormalities for better understanding
Explain the LOA (Final Grant) and close the deal
