Situated just outside Swellendam, Breede Bush Camp offers luxury tented accommodation on the Breede River banks. Private and secluded, our self-catering bush camp accommodation provides an ideal getaway for those who appreciate nature, or simply want to relax in tranquil surroundings.In keeping with the secluded, yet comfortable feel of the camp, there is no electricity. Lighting is provided by solar-powered lights and battery operated lanterns, while the fridge and hot water geysers are gas-powered. Further ensuring the rustic atmosphere is the lack of cellphone reception, although you can pick up a signal 200 m from the camp. While the nearest shop is 30 km away, our isolated bush camp remains a safe, private destination.The central lodge features an open-plan lounge and dining area with couches surrounding a stone fireplace. A large dining table is provided and a fully range of crockery, cutlery and glassware is stocked. The well-equipped kitchen features a large fridge, a gas burner and a double sink with hot water. All pots, pans and cooking implements are provided, including a braai grid and pots for cooking on an open fire. The bathroom includes a shower and basin with hot water, as well as a flush toilet. Another flush toilet is housed in a separate room. A wooden deck extends from the lodge and is ideal for relaxing, sundowners or outdoor meals.Four semi-permanent tents have been pitched individually on raised wooden platforms overlooking the river. Each platform is surrounded by a reed enclosure ensuring privacy and shelter from the wind. Each tent contains twin single beds, a nightstand and battery operated lantern. The open-air fireplace is the ideal plate to enjoy a braai, cooking or late evenings around a blazing camp fire.Breede Bush Camp offers a wealth of activities for outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts. Although 25 km of continuous private riverbank is available, the foot of the camp boasts a sheltered beach that allows for easy access to the river.
