Performs safety inspections of the wash bay area and ensures all pumps and pipes are running, and maintain register accurately.
*KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS*
1. Take responsibility for the wash bay area:
• Housekeeping and HSE.
• Daily planning.

• Perform pre task risk assessment and safe work declarations.
• Reporting on deviations, accidents, incidents and near misses.
2. Receives vehicle or equipment against wash bay requisition:
• Ensure documentation is correctly completed and processed.
• Direct drivers to designated areas.
• Ensures that machines are parked safely and stop blocks are applied before washing commences or resumes.
3. Maintain "sub store" for cleaning materials and consumables:
• Order, receive and stock a sufficient supply of detergents, cleaning materials and other consumables as required to perform daily duties.
4. Wash and clean:
• Utilize steps, ladders, hoses, pressure hoses, brooms, brushes, cloth, detergents, vacuum cleaners and other to clean and wash vehicles and equipment. (Inside and out)
5. Compiling and submitting daily, weekly and monthly wash bay register.
6. Manages customer expectations and requirements by providing a friendly and efficient wash bay service.

Our client in the mining / engineering industry is looking for a Site Supervisor (Mechanical) to join their project team in the Nothern Cape, for 1 year.
The purpose of the role is the management and supervision of contractors on the mine in Postmasburg (Northern Cape) The scope of work includes the mechanical ad piping scope of work for the SMMP and other contracts.
The supervisor is responsible for the management of the day-to-day activities of the Contractor, and to ensure compliance with the project's safety, health and environmental specifications, abidance to the contractual scope of work, compliance with the approved quality control plan, ensuring the contractual milestone dates are met and not allowing overspending on the contract.
Please note: this role is site-based in the Northern Cape
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Weekly progress report to project manager.
* Mentoring and training of the engineers / technicians in training (to be appointed).
* Study and understand the legal appointments and responsibilities applicable to this project.
* Assist the mine's safety officer with technical aspects in the approval of the Contractor's safety file.
* Assist with the identification and reporting of risks on the project.
* Assist in developing and reporting on mitigation plans.
* Be present at the daily safety tool box talks.
* Take immediate and appropriate action if unsafe work practices are witnessed on site.
* Study the contractual scope of work and construction drawings.
* Monitor the activities to ensure that the Contractor only constructs the scope of work as setout in the contract.
* Manage the re-measurable quantities in-line with the bill of quantities.
* Ensure red-lined drawings are correctly marked up and transmitted.
* Ensure the Contractor controls the quality on the project as set out in the approved quality control plan. This will be done by witnessing and inspecting the work and signing off on the relevant contractor's documentation.
* Receive the quality documentation on a weekly basis from the Contractor and file the documentation electronically on the Aconex document control system.
* Monitor and manage the progress of the work in accordance with the contractual schedule by verifying that the daily planned quantities are placed / constructed.
* Ensure the contractor submit an updated schedule with all the relevant information to monitor progress on a weekly basis.
* Continuous review of the schedule to ensure the construction sequence is correct.
* Monitor, review and manage the critical path and near-critical paths on the schedule by informing the Contractor of slippages and by requesting recovery action / plans.
* The driving of recovery actions / plans to claw back on lost time.
* Monitor and check that the planned equipment, supervisors and labourers are available / present and working on the site.
