For a secluded experience in a magical forest, spend some time at Narina Bush Camp at the foot of the Zuurberg Mountains and on the banks of the Wit River.Visitors can access the bush camp – situated 25 km (about a 45 minute drive) away from the Addo Rest Camp on gravel roads – by car, hiking trail or horse trail. Blakeney is a farm on the edge of the Waterberg, 25 km outside of Lephalale which was formerly known as Ellisras. It is a truly unspoiled wilderness area with high cliffs, the seasonal Tambotie River, shady valleys with huge trees and flat bushveld areas on top of the mountains. The animals you may see vary from warthog and the shy and rarely seen bush pig to the elusive mountain reedbuck, the agile klipspringer, bushbuck, nyala and kudu. Impala, blue wildebeest and zebra are more often seen on the mountain flats. At night and if you are very lucky you may see or hear leopard and brown hyena. Other nocturnal life is also abundant.The camp is a well-renovated old farmhouse at the base of the mountain. It has two outside bedrooms and wonderful outside entertaining areas with fires, a braai area and a pizza oven. The camp doesn’t have electricity, therefore everything runs on gas. The generator will be started for you when necessary but unfortunately not for blow drying your hair. At Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule section of the Kruger National Park you have time to unwind at the bar, enjoy a refreshing dip in our pool and relax in the beautiful tropical gardens before we board an open land cruiser for a 3h sunset drive. This is your first opportunity to experience the varied fauna and flora of Africa. We enjoy watching the magnificent African sunset and, after dark, use spotlights to locate nocturnal animals. A traditional South African dinner is served in the Boma. Accommodation at the lodgeDAY 2:We drive to a remote spot along the Olifants River to enjoy a 4h Bush Walk at sunrise and experience the thrill of following big animals accompanied by a ranger leading you through the bush at a pace you can handle. Adrenalin surges will come to their expense, even if your ranger is adequately armed. After returning to Tremisana Lodge for brunch we enjoy an afternoon game drive at around 15h00. Dinner is served at Marc’s Camp. Treehouse accommodation.DAY 3:Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger on a custom-built open-sided game-viewer and get the opportunity to view game without glass windows between them and you. You can listen to and smell the denizens of the African bush. During our drive we have regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi of Kruger Park boasts open plains and supports large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope, which then again attracts numerous lions and other predators. The zones we will visit have the highest concentration of lionsthroughout Africa! Treehouse accommodation.DAY 4:After breakfast we visit the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, where injured and orphaned animals and birds receive medical treatment. There you get the opportunity to get close to some of the centre’s residents, as, for example, lions and leopards. First night of accommodation is spent at the lodge.DAY 2:Start an exhilarating day of unforgettable bush life by awakening at beautiful sunrise. We drive you to a remote part of the Balule Game Reserve, where you enjoy a 4h bush walk accompanied by an experienced field guide leading you through the bush. You get the chance to take amazing photos of Africa’s large animals, who will remind you of this mind blowing experience forever. Even though the ranger leading you is adequately armed, there won’t be a lack of adrenaline rushes. We offer you brunch at Tremisana Lodge and high tea at 14h00. At around 15h00 we go on an afternoon game drive before you transfer to Marc’s Camp. DAY 3:After breakfast you spend the day travelling through the Orpen Gate of Kruger. The Orpen Gate of Kruger provides the highest percentage population of giraffe, zebra wildebeest and impala, which then again attracts numerous lions and other predators. Due to the added elevation and because it has no windows, the open-sided game-viewer allows for excellent viewing and photographic opportunities. A qualified guide is withyou to show you the various animals that frequent this outstanding wildlife environment. Dinner is served at Marc’s Camp. DAY 4:Enjoy an early morning bush walk accompanied by an armed ranger, who will show us various interesting details of the bush as insects, spoor and scats. You get the chance to encounter buffalo, nyala and other game on foot. We serve breakfast before you transfer to the Three Rondavels ofthe Blyde River Canyon.
