On the other hand, a Matric may be required for gardening and landscape jobs that involve botany or cross-breeding plants to produce new species. Garden and Landscape Jobs

The majority of positions for gardeners and landscapers are in private homes. These are multi-faceted and involve more than just gardening. Many homeowners look for someone who is willing to be handyman and do whatever is needed, such as painting, chopping logs, felling trees, and more. These individuals do a variety of contract labour but are compensated more than someone hired to do the lawn and garden. Many lawn and garden contractors find work that lasts during the growing season while others find year-round jobs where they are able to help maintain the house and surroundings even when the gardens are dormant.

Nursery Assistant

Nursery assistants work in commercial or private nurseries to help keep flowers and plants looking as beautiful as possible for customers. This jobs requires some knowledge about plants; however, a Matric is not necessary as the knowledge can be learned on the job. Assistants must learn when and how much water to give plants, when to feed them, and how much sunlight is needed to keep them in peak condition. Nursery assistants should also be able to recognize when plants are sick and need care. During a nursery assistant's career, knowledge gained will help them advance to higher positions.

Gardening and landscaping jobs are often listed on the low end of the job list when people search for work.
