The Ford Mustang is a classic American muscle car that is among the most affordable muscle cars on the market. New or used, this car is worth the money invested. The Ford Mustang is available in convertible, coupe, and fastback models. There are also Mustang models like the Mach I and the Shelby that can be found for sale in South Africa.
Ford Mustang Fastback
The Ford Mustang Fastback was first introduced in August of 1964. The design features a roofline that slopes down the backside of the car. Reducing the amount of boot space gave the Fastback more interior room than the original Mustang model. The design was similar to other muscle cars of the time period, such as the Corvette Sting Ray. Older model Mustang Fastbacks are considered collector cars; however, Ford does bring the design back in new lines.
Ford Mustang Convertible
Let the top down and the wind rip through your hair in a Ford Mustang Convertible. The convertible was one of the first two designs Ford introduced when rolling out the Ford Mustang. It is still a popular choice amongst Mustang enthusiasts. The Mustang Convertible was available from inception in 1964 until 1971, then there was a 10-year gap when convertibles were not part of the lineup. The convertible returned in 1982. Owners of any convertibles, even secondhand ones, that are prior to 1972 have a collector car that muscle-car fans would be thrilled to own.
Ford Mustang Mach I
The original Ford Mustang Mach I was a performance package that was introduced by Ford in 1969. The car was originally designed to compete with other performance cars like the Pontiac Firebird and to attract younger buyers who demanded more performance. The platform and engine compartment were enlarged to allow room for the bigger block engines. The Mach I also added visual elements like bonnet pins, Shaker scoop bonnets, chrome tips and other stand-out effects.
The Ford Mustang's popularity has remained intact for more than 50 years. Muscle car enthusiasts seek out this classic car for its sleep appearance and exceptional performance. From vintage used models to new and improved models, the Ford Mustang is an icon among sports cars that holds its value.
