Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Auditing Space is looking to employ a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team in East London.
Main Purpose of The Position:
Processing of accounting records onto a computerized accounting system resulting in an accurate and complete set of books.
Completing of annual financial statements of CC’s, trusts, sole proprietors and Body Corporates and working paper files.
Calculation of taxation owing by business and individuals. Completion of statutory returns e.g. PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT, Workman’s Compensation etc.
Completion of annual IRP5’s and EMP501’s. Liaising with clients directly. Supervise and train junior and intermediate accountants.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and initiating the processing of client information cheques, receipts, sales invoices, purchase invoices
Perform bank reconciliations
Processing and reconciling of Petty Cash and cash control accounts
Keeping of a fixed asset register
General journals – e.g. depreciation, provisions, interest salaries, stock, etc.
Process journal entries e.g. new instalment sale agreements, interest on borrowings, provisions, accruals of income and expenses, bad debts ect.
Foreign exchange transactions
Reconcile debtors and creditors statements.
Correct accounting treatment on disposal of assets (property, plant & equipment) and investments and the calculation of the taxation on capital gains/losses.
Analyse the resulting trial balance for mistakes / deviations and be able to discuss the results with the client.
Analytical review of AFS – GP%, Inventory days, Creditors days, Debtors days
Ability to record books from insufficient records.
Produce a draft set of financials and a working paper file for sole proprietors, close corporations, trusts, partnerships, small business corporations, farmers and Body Corporates.
Prepare the notes to financial statements
Formulate accounting policies
Identifying provisions and contingent liabilities
Calculate the tax liability for sole proprietors, individuals, close corporations and trusts, small business corporations, farmers,
Body corporates and partnerships.
Calculate the taxation on lumpsum payments by retirement
Non-resident tax
Withholding Tax on companies
Calculation of PAYE/UIF/SDL levies and VAT.
Completion of statutory returns e.g. UIF/SDL/PAYE/VAT.
Liaise with client re payment of the above returns.
Preparations of payroll.
Issuing of IRP5’s and IT3’s and reconciliation to EMP501 at year end.
Reconciliations of input/output VAT to annual financial statements and monthly trial balances

The Retail Credit Manager role forms part of the Credit Risk Management (CRM) team and is primarily responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of Retail Banking borrowing clients. The Retail Credit Manager plays a lead role in the credit risk engagement with the Retail segment business team who manage the overall client relationship. The role is to primarily oversee the retail credit granting process for Access Bank. To optimize the Bank’s retail targets and reduce bad debt losses by adhering to the local Credit Policy Guide and the National Credit Act (NCA). The Retail Credit Manager will oversee and be party to evaluating the creditworthiness of existing and prospective retail customers against set policies, procedures and National Credit Regulator (NCR) guidelines as well as taking accountability for the overall Retail credit portfolio management.

• To approve and decline credit applications based on sound justification against the Bank’s Credit policy and National Credit Act requirements as per National Credit Regulator
• To evaluate credit applications in line with the Bank’s credit scoring models
• To determine loan interest rates in line with the Bank’s retail Pricing Matrix, Credit Score and as prescribed by the National Credit Act 2 / 2

Primary Role:Manages day-to-day activities in finance functions to monitor all financial data, prepare accurate financial statements and perform treasury activities related to cash flow, borrowings, debt and capital management. Preparing of various reporting required by various debt stakeholders General Prepare reports required by various stakeholders Responsible for sending daily/ weekly/ monthly trackers as applicable for internal process /controls Responsible for effective coordination and effective communications with related functions including Managing Director, Credit and other stakeholders Qualification and Skills Required : Relevant degree or diploma 2 years of experience in Banking or Corporate Finance Good analytical and computing skills with a keen eye for detail Ability to organize and multi-task is crucial Strong verbal, written communications and presentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in accounting and lending systems
