I provide a restoration and repair service for English, French, German, American and most clocks pre and post 1900. I have many satisfied customers because I am passionate about clock repair. No clock leaves my workshop if it is not working 100%. Cleaning a clock, to me, is not just dipping it into a cleaning solution; it means taking it completely apart and polishing all the pivots and bushings so that no gunk is left that would interfere with the smooth running of the movement. Antique Clocks need cleaning and servicing every 5 years. This will ensure that they don't wear out and that they keep good time - surprisingly, most clocks, which may be several hundred years old, are still capable of keeping quite accurate time if they are properly looked after. My Services 1. Remove the movement from the case.2. Carefully examine the movement.3. Fully disassemble the movement. 4. Completely clean the movement, including an ultrasonic bath. 5. Examine and polish all pivots and bearings. 6. Reassemble and lubricate the movement with state-of-the-art lubricants. 7. Adjust the movement for proper timekeeping. 8. For grandfather clocks (and other clocks too large or heavy to move), I come to your house, remove the movement, weights and pendulum, and bring them back to my workshop for repairs. When completed, I return and re-install the movement. My rates are very reasonable because my overhead is low. Repairing clocks is a hobby, a passion, and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to bring life back into them. Bring me your clock; I do not charge for looking at it or giving an estimate. I also do not charge for collecting clocks. Please contact me. I will be very happy to discuss your requirements and give advice before any work is undertaken. For more information, please visit my website www.clockrestore.co.za Bernard 076 796 5555

I am interested in buying early Antique clocks ( pre C1880 ) similar to the attached images. Grandfather , Bracket , Lantern and fusee wall clocks are the types I am looking for , but anything else of interest would be considered. The condition i.e. not working and needing restoration is not important , and I will offer a fair price for the right clock. Must be older than 1880 . If you have a clock you are thinking of selling email or call me on 0833751243 to discuss.
