Loadshedding? No problem – the Spier Light Art in Cape Town is a bright spectacle

For those who love wine farms and light shows, the Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch hosts the annual light art show.

It is a night-time adventure for the whole family to enjoy and features an array of interactive artworks scattered across the historic Stellenbosch estate. Created by talented artists and designers from South Africa and beyond, the artworks use light, sound and video.

The great thing is that the show is not a one-day-only thing, it runs for a month (10 March to 10 April) and gives people ample time to experience it on a day that suits them.

The light art festival gives people something different to the usual comedy shows or music festivals always on the go. You can even make an entire day of it, visiting attractions within Stellenbosch and ending the night with the mesmeric light show.
