International retailer is looking for an experienced National Retail Operations Manager to join their team in Durban.We require high energy and career experience in total operations management in the Retail industry. Proficient communicator and analytical thinker with proven ability to develop and supervise cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments. Must be able to use leadership to produce better results. Have an in-depth understanding project management, budgets and management of multiple projects ensuring all goals/targets are accomplished. Demonstrated ability to lead others toward the critical issues at hand to implement successful solutions.Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:Manage stores nationally through Development Managers and Store Managers by providing support and guidance to ensure goals and objectives set for the region are metMonitor and ensure the consistent implementation of company policy, standards, procedures and systems within the regionManage the day-to-day operations of the 51 stores including inter alia operations, people, contractors, and processes.Ensure stores meet organisational, financial, operational, service and growth goals.Co-ordinate with Marketing teams to maximise turnover of the stores through service excellence (operational effectiveness and delivery)Optimise stock levels, availability and management through buying department and operational excellenceDirect operations accountability, co-coordinating store operations teams to deliver operational efficiency and service levels.Cost management including budgetary alignment and capital expenditure (CAPEX)Management of branch customer interface, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growthResponsible for ensuring security and loss control is in line with company guidelines and policiesJob Related Knowledge:Retail and business acumenSupply Chain ManagementFinancial ManagementSalesReportingPlanning & OrganisingQuality & Regulatory SOP'sJob Related CompetenciesDeciding and Initiating ActionLeading and SupervisingCreating and InnovationFormulating Strategies and ConceptsCoping with Pressures and SetbackEntrepreneurial and Commercial ThinkingPlanning and OrganisingDeliver Results and Meeting Customer ExpectationsUsing data to inform decision making processIntermediate to Advanced Microsoft ExcelQualifications and Experience:Grade 12Degree in related fieldMinimum 5 years’ experience in a similar roleExperience in working in a retail/e-commerce company advantageous

Requirements and skills
Proven working experience in merchandising
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills
Commercial acumen and the ability to “decode” customers
BS degree in Marketing or related field
