FLEET CONTROLLER

We are seeking a highly capable fleet controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing certain clients, dedicated trucks and specific responsibilities allocated to specific areas (regions) along with his fleet scheduler that they are assigned to. These responsibilities may vary and alter depending on the needs of the clients as well as the development/progression of the company.

Key responsibilities and Tasks:

• Responsible for daily communication of drivers.

• Ensure that cargo gets offloaded at set destination and arrange for an empty truck to receive cargo to load for the next destination.

• Provide assistance to both drivers and allocated clients.

• Attending to and resolving any queries that might occur with client’s cargo.

• The timeously and daily update of night schedules, before end of day.

• Assist the fleet scheduler on a daily basis.

• Assist the fleet scheduler with any other task/duties in the department.

• Comply with all company policy and Procedures at all times.

Skills and Characteristics:

• Ability to organize, delegate and meet strict deadlines.

• Demonstrate high levels or quality, focus and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Bilingual (English & Afrikaans).

Requirements:

• Valid South African ID

• Clear criminal record

• National Matric Certificate (Grade 12).

• 2 years’ experience as a fleet controller.

• Previous experience in transport industry (advantage).
