URGENT SALE!!!!!!!!!!! ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED Erf 059 , St Francis Links Size: 584 square metres For location on course please see the estate layout in pictures below For more information and discussions on any aspect, please email mailto:how8 @ absamail.co.za St Francis Links is the Eastern Cape’s newest golfing and adventure destination. The estate is located in the sand dunes and natural fynbos above the Indian Ocean in St Francis Bay. St Francis Links land may not have been grazing land for the sheep and rabbits, but a natural course between the beach and arable land it is. Jack Nicklaus has had the pleasure of taking Mother Nature’s best piece of links land and signed his name to something unique. St Francis Links will challenge all who play it and reward those who respect it. The layout combines every element of shot making with its undulating terrain, greens and surrounds as well as its variation in length and direction. The bunkers look as though they have been simply ploughed out of the land. It is the bunkering that truly defines the quality and character of St Francis Links. Others have designed and built courses with a links look. Here you will easily see what separates St Francis Links from the rest a consistent look throughout. One will agree that, almost from the opening shot, St Francis Links carries a look and feel that breathes history from times gone by. The shape of the greens comes from the natural movement of the land. The greens have simply been placed on top of the sand, changing shape in construction as the wind changed its mind. Some are more undulating than others. All putting surfaces and green surrounds present a mental and physical test.

410 Hectare Patensie Farm for sale
Western Region, Eastern Cape
For Sale By Agency
Patensie farm for sale The farm is situated within 1 hours reach from Port Elizabeth. Take the N2 and then travel via Hankey to Patensie which is the south eastern gateway to the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve. The farm is situated slightly north of Patensie and is accessed using +- 9 km of good gravel road. The shops and the beach (JBay) are all just minutes away; however, the setting is pleasingly remote as to reach the farm one drives through other farms past huge stately homes (two of which are complete with tennis court). Size Made up of 1 title, the property is 410. 9900 hectares in extent. Description The farm borders onto the Stinkhoutberg Nature Reserve which forms part of the Baviaanskloof -?Valley of Baboons?- Mega Reserve. The back boundary extends well onto the crest of the Stinkhoutberge providing breathtaking expansive views of the Grootwinterhoek Mountains and the Cockscomb Peak to the north and distant sea views to the south. The farm has pristine old world beauty thanks to the masses of seriously large indigenous trees and the meandering perennial stream. The terrain ranges from Cape Fold Mountains with spectacular rock formations all along a steep sided gorge cut with time by the continual flow of water and then opening up into a wide heavily wooded valley with interesting cliff faces. This farm is ecologically diverse consisting of no fewer than 4 of the country's eight biomes. The meeting of so many different biomes and vegetation types in such a confined area is simply remarkable and owing to the high geological, topographic and climatic diversity that occurs. These 4 biomes are the: fynbos, subtropical thicket, grassland and forest biomes. Veld types The fynbos biome is found on the poor soils of the mountains, the subtropical thicket biome on the more fertile soils in the fire protected valleys, the grassland biome occurs on the planed, gravely surfaces on the foothills and the forest biome mostly in the sheltered moist ravines along the drainage lines. The potential exists to create a fifth biome namely the savannah biome on the alluvial soils of the bottom lands and while this will promote grazing it will however require removing some of the citrus orchids. If the orchards are removed one can also plant more easily managed yellowwoods under the drip irrigation. There are already +- 1000 yellowwood trees, which were propagated in nursery bags on the property, standing ready for planting and this can be a sound long term (30yrs) investment. Plant species found include: Fynbos biome - various proteas (e.g. Broad-leaf sugarbush and pincushions), ericas and restioids. The highly localised and threatened Willowmore cedar. Two species of indigenous cycads (mainly Encephalartos longifolius) - survivors from an ancient era. Subtropical thicket biome - Sweet thorn, Common guarri, Sneezewood, Cabbage tree, Wild olive, False olive, Boerboon (Schotia afra), Num-num, Euphorbia and Spekboom. Forest biome - White stinkwood, Red stinkwood, Outeniqua yellowwoods, Tierhout, Cape ash, Cape fig, Cape plain, White ironwood, Milkwood, Gardenia, Candlewood, Kamassi and ferns etc. Rainfall The farm falls in a transition summer / winter rainfall area with an annual average of 700mm. Improvements This farm has a neat old plantation style house offering 4 beds and 2 bathrooms as well as spacious living areas with high ceilings. There are various outbuildings: a shed, a ?pack house? and a storeroom. There are also 3 wooden chalets for paying guests or family/friends. The main dwelling/outbuildings are serviced with Eskom power while the chalets use LP gas. This farm is currently a small scale commercial farming enterprise with 7 ha of organic citrus orchids under drip irrigation as well as some other lands for crop farming e.g. sweet potato. There is 7ha of registered irrigation water rights in place. Water is pumped from a pool along the perennial stream to a cement reservoir from where it is gravity fed to the rest of the farm. The orchids/lands are fenced with bonnox (game fence) to keep the game out and the rest of farm is fenced with stock fencing except for the remote northern section which is left open as this is a fynbos area, a fire driven ecology, and any fence is thus prone to fire damage. There is an extensive network of 4x4 trails ? some of which are in need of attention. Wildlife species Includes: Kudu (occasionally), Bushbuck, Mt. Reedbuck, Klipspringer, Blue Duiker, Grysbok, Bush pig, Cape Mountain Leopard and Cape clawless Otter as well as other smaller mammals. Bird species of special interest include Green Turacos (Knysna loeries), Narina Trogons, Half Collared Kingfisher, Scaly throated Honey guide, Cape rock-jumper, Orange-breasted Sunbird and last but not least a pair of nesting Crowned Eagles. Conclusion A rare opportunity for an extremely privileged new landowner. One simply can't put a price to large stands of irreplaceable pristine forest usually associated only with state owned nature reserves. This property is best suited towards a full scale eco-tourism/hospitality venture. The opportunity exists to establish an exhilarating 4x4 and quad bike route as well as to conduct guided hikes designed around special interest groups. The natural beauty of the land forms as well as the array of plant and animal species will prove an absolute delight for any amateur or accomplished botanist and birdwatcher. There is also strong development potential in the form of a low density eco estate or simply indulge in your own private mountain/forest retreat. The Susan Deacon Property Group - ID7698
