Water is obtained from run-off, as well as from perennial spring water, stored in two earth dams. Solar energy is used to pump water from one of the dams to a reservoir on an elevated hill, from where it is fed to the irrigation areas by gravity. Approximately five hectares are planted with 3,000 Macadamia trees and irrigated using drippers. Before planting, the soil was ripped, terraced, levelled, and raised. The location and soil of an additional 10-hectare area make it ideal for expanding the Macadamia acreage. It is already fitted with permanent main lines for irrigation. One hectare is planted with Pecan nut trees and another hectare with lucerne.25 hectares of the remaining acreage is winter rainfall arable dryland, ready to be planted with fodder or medicks for sheep and cattle. The natural veldt is also utilised for grazing by livestock, but supplementary feed is required.If needed, an abundance of water can be obtained from the Duivenhoks River from where it can be pumped directly into the irrigation systems. At present it is not necessary, since sufficient water is stored in the earth dams. The annual rainfall is 800 mm, which occurs mostly during the winter.Most of the acreage consists of slanted hills covered in shale. Some of the acreage is low-lying quality peat soil, along the river.Farming infrastructure consists of a new, well-built shed used for storing vehicles, tractors, and equipment, an enclosed barn used for storing fodder and a 3-pen milking parlour. All are in good repair.A modern open-plan two-bedroom / two-bathroom homestead is set in scenic surroundings with panoramic views over the irrigation areas, the river area, and mountains in the distance. It is equipped with a Wi-Fi network, and the outside barbeque and pizza oven add further value, creating a hospitable atmosphere.The labourer houses are fitted with electricity, bathrooms, and toilets.A unique feature of this farm is its 360-degree panoramic views as well as the indigenous forest on the banks of the river.
