Sand-loam soil with very good potassium values. Most of the arable land also have a good lime content and small soft limestone is visible in most camps.

400 ha are planted yearly with wheat and the balance can carry 800 sheep. Fencing overall in good state

Good quality high production soil, produces also about 50 ha of dry-land watermelons with production of 10-20 tons/ha each year. The cool breeze from the sea, which is not far away, is of great benefit during the hot summer days. Pumpkins and squash also tried with success.

Apart from wheat, other crops like oats, korog (triticale), which make excellent hay or silage, lupines, etc. are suitable crops. The area is also well known for Rooibos tea production.

Dry land vineyards are already proven as excellent established crops, for which the cool breeze can be of great advantage.

Only about 30 ha are natural shrub (fynbos) veld. Drinking water in all camps. Drinking water sources are boreholes and water from Vredenburg pipeline over the farm.
