International Clearing and Forwarding client in Springfield, Durban is seeking a Sea Freight Import Controller (Clearing & Forwarding). You will be responsible for the full operational and customer service from receipt of client indent to delivery of consignment (A – Z shipment handling)Minimum RequirementsCargowise experienceMatric and a SDS Customs course / or similar qualification will be advantageous5 –10 years experience within a clearing and forwarding environmentSound knowledge and understanding of practices and processes within the Sea freight environmentExcellent communication both written / verbal at all levelsOrganisational skills and effective time managementComputer literate – Microsoft Office & ExcelWell organized individual able to work under pressure / heavy workloads.Able to work in a team as well as independently.Must be based in the Durban area or surroundingsKey Responsibilities (but not limited to)Plan and manage Sea Import ForwardingIdentify customer solutions on rates and servicesNegotiate freight rates, landsides and ad hoc services where requiredManage the Clearing, Release & Delivery of imported consignmentsManage Job Profit ie. process shipment billing and check and post relevant Creditor’s InvoicesDaily (or as per agreed SOP’s) Client Status ReportsArrange Insurance cover where required and process claimsResolve client, service providers and internal queries professionally and timeously on email and telephonicallyParticipate in client meetings, discuss challenges and possible solutionsMaintain a good working relationship with National Team and other DepartmentsAdhere to client SOP’s and Operational Processes and ProceduresAssist Team where requiredSalary on offer is between R20k to R32k ctc per month (Dependant on experience)
