Introduction

An educational software company located in Pretoria is seeking to employ a creative Graphic Designer with at least 2 years’ experience within a similar role, videography experience would be advantageous.

 

Job Purpose

Responsible for the creation of high quality, original animations, illustrations as well as photos and videos that can be used throughout all apps, websites, social media and corporate image and stationery.

 

Requirements

Minimum education (essential)
Matric
Diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Media or equivalent
Minimum education (desirable)
Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media or equivalent

Key Performance Areas, Weights and Objectives

Graphic Design 40%
Draw in 2D to create sketches, artwork or illustrations.
Design models, backgrounds, sets, characters, objects in an animation library.
Ensure the timing and pace of the movements of a character or object during the sequence of images and follow the soundtrack and audio requirements.
Build accurate, detailed, frame-by-frame visuals.
Contribute to design style and format.
Design and maintain an icon library.
Design illustrations for apps, social media and websites.
Design of internal material.
Design and correct any graphics and icons on websites and apps.
Gather research and implement the latest design trends.
Provide proactive feedback to the Design team and relevant BA regarding status of products.
 

Videography 45%
Maintain a complete understanding of all photography situations including and not limited to on-figure fashion and tabletop product video.
Ensure that correct equipment is hired for shoots.
Determine lighting requirements, composition, background, props and product set up, as well as any additional specifications to ensure quality shooting.
Produce and direct content for video outputs.
Edit and publish videos on various platforms and in various formats.
Edit and retouch of all imagery.
Edit video footage into usable videos.
