Description
My client in the renewables industry is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a CSP build in Postmasburg, Northern Cape.The incumbent will be responsible for managing the mechanical works in the project in order to support the Senior Mechanical Engineer in overseeing and monitoring the construction phase mechanical part of the project, ensuring all mechanical works are completed within safety, schedule, budget and quality objectives as specified in the contractsIdeal start date: as soon as possibleDuties will include, but are not limited to, the following:Mechanical expertise:Provide guidance, advice, and support as deemed necessary to the EPC Contractor to ensure that the completed installation meets with the contract specificationsCheck mechanical work procedures, specifications, methods, and standards elaborated by the EPC ContractorReview all construction documents regarding mechanical works or any other required technical information before the works beginSupport and assist with the development and implementation of corrective action recommendations.Collaborate and co-ordinate with Owners Engineering.Attend meetings with the Offtaker and local governmental agencies to obtain the required permits.Assist the Line Manager with Offtaker interface and relations.Monitoring the progress of the project:Supervise the onsite mechanical construction activities, including health and safety, within the established company guidelines.Perform on-site visits to check compliance of mechanical works with contract specificationsOversee the planning and co-ordination of all site contract scope of work construction activities.Ensure the implementation of external regulatory controlsConduct meetings at the job site to improve project communications and reduce interferences.Participate in the monthly and weekly project meetings with the EPCMonitor and review progress against agreed schedule.Ensure EPC mechanical works are compliant within the HSE requirements set forth in the HSE plan.Ensure the Implementation of the Project Construction Execution Plan.Reporting:Provide feedback for any mechanical issues arising for any matters affecting the EPC’s quality, performance, planning, etc.Provide feedback to Site Manager as well as other supervisors, HSE Manager for any situation affecting the EPC’s or Subcontractor’s mechanical works.Provide necessary reports to follow the correct execution of the job, the progress of the works and the encountered difficulties.Provide timely and accurate input to the monthly and weekly reportsManagement:Support the workforce and lead them to work in good conditions and stay motivatedDevelop the skills of the teams and maximise their performanceElaborate the workforce activities plan by setting clear goals and validate their action plansSupervise and monitor their activitiesMaintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersREQUIREMENTS:Mechanical Engineering degreeECSA registration5 years in a s
